My nephew Stephen West is a big Thomas the Tank Engine fan from way back. These stories were written for him and several other Thomas fans, including my Dad, Peter Primiani, and Herb Miller, all of whom gave me encouragement.
Warning: These files are big pdf's due to the photos. They won't be loading fast. Try the first one first - it's much smaller because it uses fewer photos. (Later I'll try to make some of these smaller by reducing the picture resolution.)

"Thomas the Tank Engine" and "James" are fictional characters created by Rev. W. Awdry who featured these and many other characters in numerous books beginning in 1945. Those stories have been collected into one book, "Thomas the Tank Engine, The Complete Collection", 1996, now published in the United States by Random House, ISBN 0-517-18786-8. Since then Thomas the Tank Engine has been featured on television and in various other media. The most recent copyright / trademark notice I found states, "Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends™ Created by Britt Allcroft Based on The Railway Series by the Reverend W Awdry © 2012 Gullane." Toys of various sorts for Thomas and other Awdry characters have been made by a variety of manufacturers. These stories report on the Lionel O gauge toys. The equipment and rolling stock featured in these stories comes from a variety of manufacturers, mostly but not exclusively from the "postwar" era, including primarily Lionel and Marx, but also Ives, Atlas, Hornby and others.
